Gordon is an extremely sweet and gentle 5-year-old Siberian Husky Mix. He loves people and is respectful and gentle with everyone he meets.

Here are a few things to note about Gordon:

He loves people so much that he struggles with separation anxiety. He will need ongoing support to manage this and create positive associations with being left alone, crates, etc. He has already shown improvement with this in his current foster home and will quietly do an enrichment activity in his crate until he is finished. Then he requests vocally and by scratching the door to be let out. Because of this, he would do best in a home with a family who is present a lot of the time, and willing to work on this with patience and supervision. He is currently medicated for anxiety and takes his medication without protest.

Gordon gets along wonderfully with his canine foster brother and is respectful of his space and energy levels. He seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and remains neutral in their presence.

Gordon cannot live with a cat. He is too interested in them and fixates on their presence. This could escalate into an incident, so he absolutely needs a no cat home.

He walks very well on a leash. He is interested in other dogs passing by but with a slight refocus, will stop and happily pass by people and dogs without barking or pulling. He will pull towards small animals such as cats and birds. He really enjoys walks and keeps pace with his handler. Gordon is always nice and calm after a walk.

He is not extremely food motivated but will accept treats when there are limited distractions, and values praise. This should be kept in mind when going forward with training.

Gordon has a long, beautiful coat that will need regular maintenance.

Gordon is fully housetrained.

This boy has so much love to give and just needs a bit of patience to learn he is safe and does not have to worry so much. He enjoys snuggling up on his bed or beside you on the couch. He has the kindest eyes and the softest coat. Anyone with love, patience, and dedication will undoubtedly find an amazing companion in Gord.
