BARC's Rescue is GROWING and we are on the hunt for some additional foster coordinators for the Calgary region. This is a volunteer position that can be busy and/or stressful at times and requires someone with time management skills as the position can often have urgent task requirements.
The foster coordinator position is part of a team where there are currently 3 other members, 2 in Calgary and 1 in BC. Additionally there are several other volunteers who support the foster coordination position.
This position requires someone with a lot of patience and good people skills. The foster coordinator needs to give prospective foster providers a clear list of what the group will provide and what the foster provider will be responsible for when caring for animals. Importantly, this person needs to be constantly accessible via email and phone to respond to foster providers' questions in a timely manner. Additionally, the foster coordinator will coordinate returns and find a new foster home for pets when necessary. This post might also start a continuing education program designed to keep foster providers learning and engaged. It is essential to build good relationships with foster providers to keep them happy and willing to continue fostering!
The foster coordinator will need to use Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, WhatsApp, Facebook and our pet accounting software. Training provided. The foster coordinator will need access to a computer or laptop as our software does not work well with mobile devices.
This position has potential for growth if the person wishes to become more involved in our rescue.
