Charcoal (Chad) need a foster home!

Are you looking for a partner to share the outdoors with you? Charcoal is your boy! He loves being outside, camping and long walks, especially if he can have some time off leash to run! Charcoal is nervous meeting new people, but once he knows you, you are his new best friend. When walking he wants to meet and play with most dogs and gets excited which he is working on. He would do great with another dog in the family. Charcoal is a big dufus who can sometimes forget just how big he is and he would not want to mow down your little ones, so a home with adults or older kids might be best. When he was rescued at approximately 3 months old he had distemper which he fully recovered from with no lingering issues. Due to the illness he was quarantined and didn't start getting out for walks and meeting people until he was around 5 months old so he is unsure of new people. He is learning that new people will not hurt him and his circle of human friends is slowly increasing. Charcoal will need a home that has experience with fearful dogs. As Charcoal is very nervous meeting new people, he will require potential adopters to be patient and accepting that he will need several visits before he trusts and feels comfortable with potential adopters and transitioning to his new home. He is a sweet boy and with the right family and some additional training he will make a great family addition
