Dandy is such a loving, gentle and sweet girl. Her personality is beautiful even though we are working hard to overcome her fears of humans. She does not trust easily, and it will take time for her to do this. She is learning that only love comes from our hands but will still flinch or flee when there are sudden loud noises or movements. Strangers, at this time, seem to present a feeling of danger to her so she will try to hide and make herself as small as possible. But once she starts to trust she is trying to figure out how to be close to her person. Her flight response is becoming better but still there.

She loves lying on the couch with me and even though she sleeps in her cozy kennel at night, she LOVES lying between us in bed. She is house trained and if we must leave her at home, she is quiet and calm in her kennel. She comes to work with me every day and does really well so far. Car rides are good, but patience is needed as she will only get out if no one else but me is around.

She has started to get the zoomies when we are outside and is slowly starting to play chase with me. It is truly an amazing moment to experience. She will come close to my husband, but it is still very much on her terms…she is much better at him approaching and giving her attention. Complete strangers though…nope.

She loves other dogs and gets along so well with them once introduced. A home with a confident dog will be a wonderful thing for her. The perfect guardian/s for her would be that patient, loving person that has the time to watch her grow and flourish…she is super laid back, but I think once she is more comfortable with others, she will be excellent on hikes and long walks.

Dandy is truly one of those dogs that will forever be in my heart, I know the perfect person is out there for her.
