Ace is easy going and has a zest for life! He loves to play and tries to engage his foster siblings first, then his people. He has learned and loves to play fetch. He is learning tug rope and enjoys winning and then playing keep away with it from the others. He can also keep himself entertained with exploring, chew toys or batting and chasing his ball or toys.
Ace loves to snuggle and give kisses. Anywhere from gentle to a total face wash! He has learned sit and we are working on shake a paw. Ace is house trained-no accidents! The resident dog has taught him quickly that after going outside for bathroom breaks and play, if you come inside and sit, you get a small treat. Ace is usually the first one in and sitting. He has learned to wait his turn, and always takes the treat gently.
He walks well on leash and has not reacted much at all to loud noises, cats or rabbits, or other dogs. He notices and pauses, but then continues. He also listens and redirects well. He has not been tested with cats or children but does great with his 2 foster dog siblings and any new human he meets. And everyone that's met him loves him back! He also doesn't seem to have any food or toy guarding either.
He does well in his crate. He may not be excited to go in, but he does with some encouragement, and then is either quiet or will quiet after a minute or two of occasional whining. He just wants to be where his people are at!
He really enjoys riding in vehicles too! He loves looking out the window and seeing the world go by.
I feel Ace would do well as a companion for a person or family. He is a little puppy-like yet and is a bit clumsy at times while learning his size and strength, so maybe older kids are best, as would dogs of similar size and play activity. He is so good natured; he wouldn't hurt anything on purpose! The short time he has been in his foster home, his energy levels have come down overall from where they were initially. He will need some patience as he readjusts to his new home as well as continuing to learn what is acceptable to chew and staying down. He has made huge strides in those areas as well in a short time.
Overall, Ace is a handsome, loveable, goofy wiggle butt that can always entertain and get me to laugh. He will make a great addition to his new home!
