Bowser is a character! He was very stressed during the decompression phase, but only expressed this by excess pacing and panting. Otherwise, all he wants is to be pressed up against a person getting his head scratched (he will nudge your hand up over his head until you get the hint). After a couple weeks, he still seems tentative but does not appear to have an aggressive or mean bone in his body and only wants love from the people around him.

In terms of house-training, he has yet to have an accident in the house or do any sort of marking, or chew anything that is not his. We had to encourage and coax him into taking the stuff that is his.

He knows his name and comes when called, but beyond that, does not seem to know much in the way of basic commands; we're working on that.

I've left him alone for gradually increasing lengths of him, we're up to 6-8 hours alone, and I have not come back to any surprises or things being chewed that shouldn't be chewed.

Bowser was reluctant to enter his crate at first, but has slowly warmed up to it being his own space. He is still a little bit reluctant to enter, but I have been finding him voluntarily sleeping in it more frequently, so I believe he will adapt to using it more as he gets more comfortable in the house overall.

He does extremely well on walks and lightly tugs the leash occasionally, but just saying "slow down" brings him right back to your side.

He has met several people at this point, and always does so happily with a wagging tail and maybe one jump up, but he quickly returns to his normal calm self within 30-seconds or so, then lays down on the floor beside them.

He's met a few dogs on walks, and has displayed no signs of aggression towards them, instead displaying very little interest in them or any other animals we come across. He displays no signs of food or toy aggression, instead opting to look at you like you just broke his heart if you take his food bowl from him. He is somewhat food motivated but doesn't go crazy if treats are out.

Overall, he has been one of the best fosters I've ever had. He would do well in a calm household since he will leave the room if there are any sudden loud noises like opening a garbage bag but has no problems with people reaching down to pet him or anything, hence why I think he would be good with kids.

He doesn't act skittish per but is very tentative with new surroundings however he is always great with people. A household that will let him go at his own pace and give him plenty of love would be ideal.

I can't say enough how affectionate he is once he is comfortable, and how important it is for him to be pressed up against someone if they're around. He is still learning how to play, one day he'll catch a toy...maybe. When he gets going, he'll run in circles for 5-10 minutes before needing a nap, which is how he likes to spend most of his day.

Overall, he has been a pleasure to foster and will be a great addition to a calm household that can show him lots of love!
