Donovan is a sweet soul with great hair. It’s not every day you meet a dog with a natural Mohawk running all the way down his back.
He’s very outgoing and likes being part of the action. Whether it’s daily tasks around the house, band practice or riding in a convertible, Donovan is there with tail wagging.

We are still learning some basics such as table manners and house-training, but he’s already come a long way in just one week. Donovan currently wears a belly band around the house because his crate training must be done in small steps, but each day the pad stays dry longer and he’s starting to understand that the crate is a safe place.

Donovan walks nicely on leash and is polite toward dogs, cats, and people. He has been tested with a 4-year-old child and although he did great, we don’t recommend him for a family with young children as he is quite petite and doesn’t always know to keep a safe distance.

Since Donovan hasn’t yet learned to sleep quietly in his crate and is a bit of a Velcro dog, he currently spends his nights glued to my cheek. Luckily, he does not snore. Vocalization does happen especially when crated thus he might not be a good candidate for apartment living.

Donovan will do great as an only dog if he has someone fairly active in his life. He loves to play and walk. He is not a couch-potato. He enjoys his foster siblings but does annoy the senior chihuahua due to his playfulness so a home with another small younger dog would be a great.
