Walter is interested in cats but has not chased them, he just seems to want to sniff. No chase attempts seen for cats, although rabbits are becoming interesting. Walter seems very good with other dogs. He has met both large and small ones and although he's not got the hang of playing, he loves sniffing and watching other dogs! Unknown if he is good with children, likely calm ones would be fine. Has not barked once, even with other dogs or the delivery man. He is 100% house trained, not a single accident. Happy to get into the car and very calm, however on longer rides he has gotten car sick.
Hi, I'm Walter and everyone tells me I am a handsome and quiet boy. I came here from Bahrain November 30th and since then I have been adjusting to life in Canada. I'm working on my confidence and my foster family often laughs at my sad facial expressions. I hate the cold, but I look forward to a few short walks a day, if I am wearing my winter jacket! I am house trained and am doing very well with routine.
My favorite thing is snuggling on the sofa with a warm blanket or following people around to investigate what they are doing. I am working on commands like sit and lay down but could use some more practice. My foster family says I am very polite and haven't licked or chewed a single thing that isn't mine. I don't show any signs of resource guarding, food aggressions or whining; I haven't barked at a single thing! When meeting new people, I can be a little nervous. Loud noises are worrisome although I'm relaxing every day and getting used to it.
I would love a quiet home willing to help me with my confidence. I can imagine my life with a family who loves a combination of long walks in the warm summer and cuddling on the sofa in the winter.
