Bonez formerly Beans is being surrendered back to BARCS as his conflict with the resident dog. Because of this we recommend a foster that has no dogs at home. Bonez is a year old with birthday estimate of October 20, 2021. He weighs about 60lbs. He has a fair amount of energy and loves long walks or dog parks. He has no food allergies and is currently on Purina One for Large Breed Puppies. Bonez is a very loving dog who loves to cuddle and loves to talk to his humans. He loves cats but can get reactive towards dogs in the same house, so would be better in a home with no other dogs. He is a good dog, loving, gentle, and cuddly, so a home where he is the only dog would be great for him. We have two kittens that he loves and is extremely gentle with them. The kittens like to cuddle up to him to sleep and enjoy cleaning his ears! Bonez would love to play with the adult cat but she will have nothing to do with that!

He is very well behaved and is house trained, he has no issues with his kennel and is great in the backseat. I do attach collar to seat belt for his safety and he just lays down.

Bonez does bark at fireworks and loud noises and also lets you know if someone is at the door and when it’s garbage day. He does not go crazy or jump on the fence but just barks to let them know he's there. Bonez will need more guidance on how to calm down and greet people properly when they arrive.

When we have gone for walks, he has had no reaction to birds, squirrels or rabbits. If there is a dog being walked on other side of the street, he does stop and watch and after a minute a two will continue his walk. He has tried to play while being walked and likes to take the leash and pull but with a bit more training he will figure it out.

He can bark at strangers in the home but once they've been there for a short period of time, he's more trusting of them. A few treats and ignoring him for a bit seems to work great. He redirects easily and walks quite nicely on a leash!

Bonez has wonderful manners and knows the basics of sit, shake a paw and down. He is still learning “walk” and “car ride” but is smart enough to know when you put your shoes on, you’re going somewhere.

He is very gentle when you hand feed him and doesn't beg when it's dinner time. He likes the couch but just needs to know what side is his.

He loves to play and is great with retrieving.
