Montana is the sweetest old lady, so much so that we have taken to calling her Nana. She is so resilient and energetic for her age - nothing gets her down! She loves cuddling on the couch, napping, the occasional walk around the block and snacks of any kind. She is indifferent to toys, and with her low energy levels is only interested in short bursts of play. She loves all people, but is dominant and dog selective and would do better with a submissive dog. She has adapted well to life with our rambunctious 2 year old bulldog after setting some boundaries with him. We are unsure how she would be with cats.

Montana would do best with a low activity owner, preferably with a home with minimal stairs. She would be a great dog for someone living in a condo. She is house trained and has picked up bell training quickly. She is a dream on the leash and loves car rides! She does bark occasionally when she sees people walking by or when initially put in her crate, but she settles quickly.

Nana is working hard everyday on her basic training, and is keen to please for a tasty treat or a scratch. Just beware, once you start petting her, she will never get enough! Nana truly is the best dog and will win the hearts of everyone she meets.

Montana came from a high-kill shelter in Bakersfield California.
