Charlotte is a very snuggly girl. She likes to be with her person as much as possible. She is very much a couch, potato and would thrive best with a home where she has her own yard for a quick bathroom break. In the summertime, she might be more inclined to play outside for longer periods. She is from California and doesn’t like being out in the cold for long. She’s not a fan of harnesses collars or leashes. She’s very fearful of people and vehicles when on a leash. Due to this, Charlotte would not be a good candidate for apartment or condo living. She would do better in a home or townhouse with their own independent yard.
Charlotte can be very timid when introduced to new people, but she is very food motivated and she can be encouraged to say “hi” with snacks. She seems more scared of men, but it just takes her a little longer to warm up to them. Charlotte would also do better in a home with no kids or older kids. She is food motivated and knows how to use it but does not know any other commands. We are working on it especially when trying to put the food bowl down. She’s also not inclined to drink Stillwater, so all of her food is watered down to get her to hydrate.
She was kennelled with Wishbone prior to foster but hasn’t had much to do with other dogs at the foster so far. Also, something we are trying to work on. Would probably be fine with controlled introductions. She is super submissive very quiet and doesn’t bark much at all.
Charlotte is housetrained and crate trained but does show signs of separation anxiety and would excel in a home with someone home more often. Charlotte can be crated and will settle quickly but does not like to be left for long periods of time.
Charlotte is the sweetest little girl and her foster mom likes to call her Dobby the house elf because of her cute big ears. If you’re looking for a new best friend that doubles as a foot warmer, you found her!
