Boris Looking for Forever Love
Hi I’m Boris. I am a 2-year-old terrier cross, but I am much younger at heart. Everything is fun, fun, fun and exciting. I love going for walks: morning, afternoon, and evening with a play time in the backyard after. I walk well with my harness either on a short leash or a long leash. I used to have to look at everything along the way as everything was new. But now I can motor along at a good pace, just stopping to sniff at “doggy spots”, or to watch someone down the street. With a little bit of training, I’ll be a gem walking right beside you. I love going for nature walks, I’ll go through any kind of terrain. I am crate trained (24” X 36”). I have long legs and really like to stretch out. I cry softly for no more than 5 minutes, then I’m good. I sleep all night long. I haven’t had any accidents in the house. I have taken a few things that didn’t belong to me, but I seem to be over that now. I respect barriers put up to keep me from areas I don’t have access to yet. I know vehicle rides are fun. We go to the park or into the country. But I have decided that going into the vehicle kennel isn’t so much fun, and I don’t want to go into it anymore. A bigger one might be good the answer there. But once I’m in I am ready to go. I am a very quiet traveller.
I am fascinated with that doggie in the mirror or window reflection. I take treats very, very gently. I love playing with balls and softies. But when playing I can get very excited, and I will start to use my mouth. I am trying really hard to stop this but will require more ongoing training to help me change this. Especially if I am going to be playing with children. I will also need continuing help to learn not to jump up on people. I do this cuz I just love, love, love people and I want their attention. I say hi to dogs I meet but it is the people I want to visit with. I do have one quirky thing. You can put a leash on me very easily and I will follow you anywhere. But if you try to take me just by my collar or harness, I will do my best to not to let you. I will lie quietly on a mat while you work in the kitchen, or you are at your desk.
I love to snuggle up at the end of the day. I know how to sit and wait to go out the door after you. I am learning down, crawl and shake a paw. I eat from a puzzle dish to slow me up plus it is kind of fun. I do have a voice, but I don’t bark very often. Foster Mom says I’m the perfect little pup with a wonderful zest for life and with love and direction I will overcome my jumping up and mouthing. She would adopt me herself but with her current situation she’s not able to. She can’t be my forever person, but she can help me find one.
