Meet Jake, a happy, young, petite, long earred cutie!
Jake was recently rescued from a testing laboratory; we don't know the things he had to endure in his life thus far, but it has caused him to be skittish and to keep his distance - at first! When he warms up and trust grows, he does seek out affection and enjoys laying on the couch/floor close by. During this warm-up time he does still enjoy being close by and observing.
He is enjoying no longer being a number and is responding to Jake and will perk up/come closer when called. His tail is constantly wagging and is really a happy boy.
He does need to be picked up to go in and out of his kennel but once in he is quiet and seems to enjoy it. He will also lay in it with the door open. He will whine/bark when he has to go out but has had the odd kennel accident.
He is slowly making progress with house training but will require ongoing training. He is timid of leashes, but once he is clipped and outside walking around, he is quite happy about it.
He is a little picky with food but once you find the right thing that he likes he is very food motivated. He really enjoys freeze died liver treats.
He is relatively quiet and really only barks to come back inside or go out. But definitely has the beagle bark.
Jake is ready to find a forever home to show him that people can be trusted and give him lots of love and affection. He is good with kids, dogs and cats. He has been through a lot in his short life and will require a home that will show him love and patience as he learns to trust humans.

Adoption costs: $650.00
