Evie is a very good girl who just wants to be around her humans and enjoys getting lots of love and pets. She is a loyal pup with great recall, listening skills, and a good understanding of basic commands. Evie will follow you around the house to see what is going on and likes to be part of the day-to-day. She is house-trained and does all of her business outside. She also does well on car rides.
Evie walks well on a leash and loves her long walks/runs/hikes. She is an energetic pup who will require a good amount of exercise to tire her out and keep her out of trouble. If not exercised properly, she will get playful and may start mouthing a little bit. However, Evie is not destructive and simply wants attention. She loves coming on long hikes with us and enjoys her playtime in the backyard.
Evie rarely barks, sometimes only at the beginning of meeting somebody new if she feels scared or intimated. She is showing some signs of separation anxiety as she does not like being left alone in the house or to be in the crate if she can't see us. However, we are working on getting her more used to the crate and learning to be ok on her own. She is doing better every day and has already made big improvements!
Evie would do best with a family where at least one person works from home (or at least some days of the week) or where people are not gone for a full 8-hour day at work. Evie would thrive being a part of an active family that will go on adventures and take her along. A big acreage/farm area/large backyard with high fences would be recommended for Evie to run around and play. A previous foster informed us that Evie can jump 5-6ft fences so a fenced space would be best.
