Meet Gary! Gary is a medium to high energy dog, who loves to cuddle and lay around the house but as soon as there is mention of a walk, he’s ready to go. Gary never turns down an opportunity to go on an adventure!

Gary is quite smart, very food motivated, and loves to please his people, which have all helped with ongoing training. In the time he's been with us, Gary has made incredible progress and has become increasingly comfortable and confident allowing him to grow into a well-rounded dog.

Gary has done well with every dog he's met and has shown no signs of aggression. Gary and his foster brother are best friends and are constantly playing together! When around other dogs, Gary knows to listen to social cues and not push boundaries. He loves people and kids, but due to his size and energy levels he would be better suited to live with older kids that won't get knocked over. We've been working on Gary's leash training and he is doing amazing but he sometimes struggles with containing his excitement which is only getting better.

While we are away at work, we leave Gary in our spare room, and he has adjusted to our routine quite well. Gary is very tolerant; we can cut his nails, brush his teeth, give him a bath, and pick him up all with no reaction. All attention is good attention to him. With a bit of guidance, Gary can behave anywhere, and does really well. We have taken him on hikes, long car rides, camping, downtown, restaurant patios, adoption events, friends houses, and busy parks - all of which he has done great.

Although we have been working on it, Gary's biggest fault is getting too excited and struggling to settle down but it also shows how much just a little walk with his people means to him.

We have loved having Gary in our home, he brings us so much joy and we are excited to see him do the same in his forever home!
