“Hi there I am Rhonda (I also go by Roo Roo, Banana Head, Potato, Duffus and Dumb Dumb), as you can see by my pictures I am adorable, I kinda just run around our house looking like I just found my legs lol. I came to Alberta from sunny California and so far I have be enjoying all the things. My first snow was amazing and I loved being outside and playing it. This summer has been really hot and I just love to lay outside and act like a backed potato.
I turned 2 years old this summer and still full of puppy, I love to play with my foster sister Birdie she's been doing her best to show me the ropes and trying to teach me to be a little gentler as I sometimes get so excited to play that I forget. My foster mom and dad have been working hard to help me learn how to be the best girl, we are working on the "OFF" camand because I just love to jump up and see whats on top of everything, we have been working on "Leave it" for all the things I shouldn't get into and "Drop" for all the things I like to pick up. So far we have had some good days and some crazy days but I always try my best and will do anything for a snack. I am still working hard to learn how to be a even better dog than I am.
I really enjoy my kennel and will go in and just lay there when I need some space, I sleep through the night in my kennel like a champ. I love squeeky toys and soft toys, I love to chew so my foster mom gives me a kong with my favorite snacks in it just to keep me busy. You should know though that I have an addiction to socks.
I like to nap in the sun, in my pillow nest/fort or on a soft bed and sometimes you can catch me napping with my foster sister. We go outside into the yard a lot especially when my foster mom is at home working and I get to spend so much time sniffing and chewing my ball and can't forget playing with my foster sister Birdie.
This summer I got to go on my first camping trip and lets just say mesquitos and I are not friends but I loved spending time with all the new smells and chilling by the campfire. We also went on a short hike to a waterfall and that was so much fun. I'd love to go on all kinds of advetures, smell new smells and meet new people.
Walking on my own has gotten better and my foster mom still brings treats with us to help keep my attention and I have gotten more confident over time.
I love people and dogs but espesially people, I am just a big love bug and if you are looking for someone that can give the best kisses and snuggles I am the gal for you. I love to snuggle up with my foster family (but especially mom, she's the best) and watch movies in the big bed or on the couch. I do well with bigger dogs that are well rounded and confident and I do have another foster sister that is a Chihuahau mix (she doesn't like my puppy energy, well honestly she doesn't like any energy lol) we get along and would do fine in a house with a smaller dog. I also live with a cat that I have shown a little interest in but I mostly leave her be (cats would be ok if they are dog savvy). I have had the chance to be around a few kids (supervised) and I really do like them but sometimes I get to exctied and lick them a lot especially the littler ones. I think that with supervision and an experienced dog owner(s) that I would make a great family dog. I am very playful and still need a lot of help to become a great dog but I know I can do it with someone that has lots of paticents.
About you:
I am looking for a home that will keep up with my crazyness
Someone that likes to go on advetures and be out doors
While I think that I would be okay being the only pet in a home (if my new mom and/or dad were able to be with me more oftn than not) I would thrive better with a companion, I love to play and snuggle, and get lonely when I have to be alone.
I need a fenced yard
I like kids of all ages but prefer ones that are older and have an understanding of how to respect my space as I am still learning to play more gently.”
