Kylie is a spunky, fearless little girl that loves nothing more than being with her people. She settled quickly into our home. Kylie loves taking long walks. She doesn’t pull on the leash but does take frequent stops to sniff all the new smells. She is dog selective on her walks. Sometimes she politely sniffs and walks off, but other times she barks loudly. She has a high prey drive and lunges for birds and squirrels so she should never be taken off leash.
At home Kylie loves to snuggle on the couch. She enjoys chewing on soft toys and playing tug of war with her little squirrel. She doesn’t guard her food or toys. Kylie is starting to learn “sit” and “leave it” with treats being a big motivator for her. She will chew on cardboard, socks, and soft stuffies but doesn’t seem to have interest in chewing shoes or furniture. She will jump up onto the couch but not the chairs or the table.
House training is slowly coming along. She doesn’t seem interested in doing her business outside but will happily use pee pads. We wonder if she’s had experience with that in the past as she doesn’t have accidents anywhere else in the house. She would do well using an indoor dog potty or dedicated bathroom space until she understands to go outside.
Kylie sleeps well through the night without any accidents. She settles into her crate and sleeps without making any noise. She will also nap in her crate if we are out during the day. We set up a camera while we were gone, and she doesn’t bark or whine while she's alone.
Kylie is currently living with three kids. Based on her interactions with them, she would do best in an adult-only home, or in a home with calm, older children. She has not been tested with cats or dogs, but she has a high prey drive so proper introductions would be crucial with a smaller sized pet.
Her coat is long, but we have noticed minimal shedding. We use a slicker brush every couple of days to brush it out. It doesn’t take long, but her new family needs to be committed to doing this for her.
Kylie is an amazing little dog that will make a great companion. She is still young and learning how to live in a home, but she is also highly intelligent and resilient. She would do best with a calm family that is able to spend most of the day with her, take her for long walks and provide the love and stability that she deserves.
