Meet Rossa

For weeks now Pause4Change has been attempting to trap this sweet girl. She was located at the same rural community as Beverly and May.

When Pause4Change went back a couple of weeks ago they found her nursing 20 puppies! So even being on an intake freeze they removed 7 of the older pups to try and relieve some of the pressure on Rossa.

When they went back today they were finally able to trap her! I think she knew she was at the point of needing saving. They were also able to find 9 of her 13 puppies. They will continue to look for the 4 remaining pups.

Rossa will need a foster who is willing to be very patient with her. They will need to know that she may take weeks to come out of her shell and there may be set backs along the way. She won’t be able to be walked far and will not be able to be left alone in a yard. But when she has had the time to realize that humans are ok she will be the most amazing dog. Rossa would do best on an acreage as she has never lived in a home. It will take her some time to adjust, but she is such a strong and resilient dog.
