Nixon (aka Snickers, Snickerdoodle, Snicker-Do, Snicks, Snicky) is as sweet as they come! He is a sweet, calm, playful, gentle puppy who loves to cuddle, is fantastic with our two dogs, has incredible eyes, and velvety fur. He is playful and great at initiating and playing gently with our small senior dog and being respectful of our larger senior who likes her quiet time. He is dog savvy!
Nixon sleeps in our room under a bench at the end of the bed, on lots of comfy blankets and sleeps peacefully through the night. He is shy of new people and is progressing every day as he meets people on his walks (lots stop to pet him as he’s so irresistible!). He is getting better and better on his leash, and we are travelling farther from home on daily walks. He gets an early morning walk, then breakfast, an afternoon walk, and often an after dinner walk. He loves the after dinner walks the best! When he is uncertain, he sits down and then pops up ready to go once he has assessed situation around him.

Nixon is very easy to correct and picks up cues and listens extremely well! He is a counter-surfer so an adopter will need to be aware of that (he is, after all, just getting used to being fed regularly and not have to fend for himself!) but he is easy to correct with a gentle down command. He is calm in the house and loves to curl up under our desks while we work at home during the day.

Nixon does not bark but he is starting to be vocal while playing with our dog. He is good in the car, just lays quietly and is getting less uncertain about getting into car – now, he will often jump right in. He knows that wherever he is going, he’ll end up safe and warm at his foster parents house. He is also fantastic when we leave the house and put him in his kennel. He knows when we are leaving, and we have the same routine when we leave the house so he will just go into this kennel without us asking. Nixon is a wonderful dog who needs a confident person that gives gentle guidance. He loves chewing on toys and is learning how to play fetch.
