Special/Medical Needs: Bodhi will require surgery to remove a salivary gland that is currently leaking into a pouch below his chin. Barcs will cover the cost of this surgery once they have raised the funds in an estimated time frame of 6 months. In the veterinarian's opinion, he is not in any pain and his long-term health would not be affected by this.

This boy is a gem! I have never met such a sweet, loyal, lovable, protective, fluffy and cute dog all wrapped in one before! He is a very chill and laid back guy. Bodhi was found as a stray in Bakersfield, and was likely an outdoor dog his entire life. It took several weeks before he would willingly come inside the house and feel comfortable inside. Now he likes a good mix of spending time out in the backyard and inside the house with his humans and canine foster siblings. He is such a loyal dog once he gets to know you, and almost every evening he climbs up on the couch for a snuggle session (until he gets too hot haha). He is very smart and extremely food motivated, making him easy to train. He is house trained, and has basic house manners. Haven’t worked on recall or leash training yet but he could use some work on that and I’m sure he will pick it up quickly.
He is everyone’s best friend on walks and out in public places, but inside houses he can be shy and take a while to warm up to new people. He has become protective of his home and yard, so this may need to be monitored when strangers come to the door or guests come over.
He lets you cut his nails! His tail and neck hair need to be combed every week to avoid matting. He does not need to be crated and has been 100% trustworthy in the house when I’m not home (he just sleeps the entire time).
He is playful with this foster siblings and is calm when he sees other dogs on walks. He LOVES walks, he gets so excited when he hears his leash. He also enjoys car rides and he is very well behaved in the car.
