Smitty is a playful and smart dog with beautiful eyes and a great personality. He loves all humans and is always excited to get pets from everyone. He enjoys his walks and is almost fully leash trained, responding well to a few corrections to stop pulling. He does get excited by small animals like squirrels, so it takes him a moment to calm down. Smitty would love to be in a single-dog home, so he gets all the attention. He does well with other dogs and is excited to meet them, with proper introductions. He loves to nap and is currently learning commands like "sit" and "down" (he's still working on "roll").

Smitty likes to stay close to his humans and isn’t a fan of being left alone, though he does well with a calming mask when in his crate. In his foster home, he’s known as the ultimate slipper thief and loves to chew on them, so you'll need to keep an eye on that! He loves his bed, his shark chew toy, and his rope toy. He sleeps happily in his crate at night, letting his foster mom get a full night's rest. He’s also making progress in his training to stay off furniture.

Smitty would be a great addition to a home with moderate to high activity. With his cute eyes and loving personality, he’s sure to melt your heart!
