This young man has earned his name, as he is just too sweet! Willie has the big dog aesthetic on little dog legs with the most adorable puppy dog eyes and a tongue that hangs out of his mouth 80% of the time. Try not to fall in love, I dare you!

Willie only took a few short days to adjust to Canadian living. He’s shown himself to be a mild-mannered dog and has settled happily and easily into home living.

Willie is both sweet and goofy, simultaneously cool, and calm and a puppy at heart. He is a little shadow, following you around and making himself comfortable in whichever room you inhabit. He also loves gentle play and chasing you around before he tuckers out and sprawls on the floor for a nap with his tongue out. It is just as easy to rile him up as it is to calm him down. He will shift gears to whatever mood you are in easily, so long as he gets to spend his time with you!

Willie loves to chat with you, more of a comical moan and groan than a real bark. He has shown a bit of a prey drive and some dog reactivity on a leash. However, it is generally quick and easy to break his hyper-fixations and redirect his focus. He will need continued work on his training. He is treat motivated and very smart so he should continue to pick things up quickly as he continues to adjust.

Willie is currently living with another Bakersfield BARC’s alumni. While she is a little bit older and disinterested in playtime, he has been respectful and eager to find his place in the pack. He would fit in great to a home with other dogs but would also be just as happy to soak in all the love on his own.

Willie has already proven himself to be a very sweet and grateful dog deserving of a wonderful home. He will easily and happily fit in anywhere with a little training, routine, and love. If you are interested in opening your heart to Willie, he will give you his whole heart in return ❤️
