He is a very curious unneutered pup, loves people talking to him, petting and showing him attention. He loves everyone! Butters is smart and a quick learner. Knows the basic commands sit, lay down, stay, leave it and also out - I have a rule in my house no dogs in the kitchen while cooking or humans are eating. Rarely barks.

I have worked with him to ask permission before jumping on furniture (ie. My bed and the couch) he will sit, if yes he will come up if no he will go to his bed.

Is always up for a game of tug a war and playing with toys, fetch is on the top of his favorite things to do and when you get tired he doesn't mind and will throw the toys around for himself and kangaroo hops around - very cute to watch his enjoyment of life. he is a sweet dopey soul. Loves to snuggle, crates like a dream. Hard tail wagger. Listens when you say back when coming into the house and will give you space.

Things he needs work on:
currently working on leash pulling, he can get mouthy when getting over stimulated by petting and scratches. Needs the odd reminder to take treats gently. He is a VERY fast eater, a slow feeder has immensely slowed him down with inhaling and small portions curbed gassiness. He needs to be reminded no counter surfing but with a consistent feeding schedule and routine he rarely attempts. Jumps up occasionally on people - down is a key word used. Very treat motivated which has significantly helped us.

Walking in the neighborhood he is nervous and will bark and whine, he is less confident outside of the home. High prey drive cats, squirrels, birds. While walking and he sees any of these he will try to bolt.
If seeing another dog he sometimes will bark and will pull on the leash not so harsh as a lunge. When very nervous he will rip his head back. (I use a harness with him) to avoid issues.

About his environment at my house:
Myself, 2 teenage boys 13&15 and our 4-5 year old resident dog (male lab mix very social is used to fosters) large backyard.

Within the last week butters has started to challenge the resident dog, at first butters was very submissive perhaps through decompression he has become more confident. At the moment the pups have to go outside in intervals and never together, they tolerate but will growl when on the other side of the room , constant eye contact and raised hackles.

They had one major scruff standing up snarling, all teeth (no sneezing)bits of hair flying. Seperating was challenging as they were not giving up. I am not experienced enough with that type of interaction.

What the vet says:
(Jan 2nd, 24) I took him for shots.
Approx 1.5-2 yrs old, healthy. No concerns. Heart and lungs sound great. He does have a scannable rabies tag which i will provide all information for.

I did notify on the colder Crisp days butters has a mild cough, he eats snow and ice he may scratch his throat or because he was a very bad puller with collar on he may have choked himself and had gotten irritated and the vet was not concerned.

Overall he is an amazing pup.
