Louie is the most polite, gentle, calm and loving dog I’ve ever fostered. He is absolutely sweet. He is smart, alert, learns easily and is eager to please. He is super curious and needs to sniff and check out everything. He takes corrections well and his gentle nature only requires gentle corrections. He has basic commands with “come” being his best command. He naturally shoulder checks when we are out walking. His recall is good. He could easily do agility or advanced dog training.

He is completely house broken and walks well on the leash. He loves snuggles and belly rubs and then goes to his bed where he sleeps on his own for the night.

After introducing him to my 2-year-old grandson he was gentle and loving and showed lots of concern and was protective when he cried. He is very loyal and would be a great family dog for an active family.

Louie is not a fan of the crate, but we have worked on getting him more comfortable with short periods. His biggest issue is separation anxiety, as he doesn’t like being alone. This is the only time he makes noise and he howls his discontent. He is getting more comfortable with me being out of the room, so that may self-correct to some extent as he gets more comfortable and feels secure.
