Leo is an absolute joy to foster. He lives with a dog much larger than him and does well. He is very neutral with other dogs and prefers human interaction. He also has a feline foster sister and has been great with her. If the cat runs in front of him he shows interest but does not mean to cause harm, may just chase.

Don’t let his short legs fool you, this guy loves walks! He keeps up with us and our 50lb dog on hour long walks and has energy to keep going. He would enjoy an active home. He does very well on leash.

Leo has had a couple accidents in the house but that was prior to his neuter when he was exhibiting marking behaviour. Since then he has been going to the bathroom completely outside.

Leo does not enjoy his crate and prefers to be cuddled up beside you, but could possibly improve with some more positive association and reinforcement. He also let out some growls with our cat when she approached him while he was eating, so caution needs to be exercised with food aggression. He has not shown any other signs of this and does not mind when people handle his food, but potentially does not enjoy the other company of other animals while eating. We feed everyone separately for this reason.

At the private off-leash park, Leo kept up with the two large dogs we brought. He alternated between running around with them, and following closely behind us. He really enjoys the company of his people and is never far away.

He does bark when excited and sometimes experiences fits of reverse sneezing. A vet was told this and said it is not cause for concern. He is very happy-go-lucky and has the best smile. He is also a big snuggler.

Leo has been an amazing companion for us and will undoubtedly make a fantastic addition to most families.
