Prairie is a little firecracker; she has her moments of intense playing and then goes into full relax mode. With toys and bones to chew she can be left to roam the house when her people go to work. Once you return, be ready to hear how she has missed you and loves a good head rub before getting dinner. Prairie can be a little shy at first, with time she becomes more trusting, confident and will begin to show you her funny antics. She looks forward to her cuddles before bed and loves to snuggle up when you sleep.

Requires lots of exercises and time to play to draw down her energy. Her joyful spirit and affectionate nature are sure to win your heart!

Loves to play with a variety of toys – she will often play with toys on her own, tossing them around to chase.

Car rides are a work in progress, she is nervous and stays low. Repeated short drives are helping her become comfortable in a moving vehicle.

She loves sniffing out the scents in the grass. Once she has a scent, she will remain focused on trying to find them. She is working on staying focused on the walk.

She can be spooked by loud noises like thunder and fireworks, just holding her and giving her a sense of security helps her deal with the fear.

Loves spending time laying in the grass and watching the world go by. Getting out for 2 walks a day helps maintain energy. Playing with her foster sister & toys helps keep her active and engaged.

Great with dogs she knows, reacts to bigger dogs when walking. With a gentle reminder she will continue to focus on the walk.

She loves the attention when approached by the children in the neighborhood.

We’re not sure how she would react to cats.

She knows how to sit, stay and come for treats. She is a fast learner and with time and practise can learn many more tricks.

Prairie has a hard time chewing bigger bites of food and treats. Providing food/treats that are smaller will be best for her.

Forever home is with someone who shares her passion for playtime and walks. Bonus points if you have a fenced yard where she can relax and enjoy the sun. Prairie would be good with another friend or on her own.

Prairie has been patiently waiting for what feels like an eternity! We’re thrilled to share the exciting news that she has officially received sponsorship. A member of our BARC's team and her family has generously chosen to cover part of Prairie's adoption fee, with the hope that this will assist in finding her a loving new home.

Adoption costs: $650.00
