Seren is as gorgeous as her name, which means ‘Star’ in Welsh. She is a young, energetic and playful girl who is affectionate and charismatic. Everywhere she goes, people comment on how beautiful she is. She is very playful and her goofy side comes out the more she becomes comfortable with her surroundings. She loves toys, especially chasing a ball or playing tug. Seren loves to go for adventure walks, and enjoys splashing in a creek on a hot day. She shows no leash reactivity when encountering other dogs on leash. She would probably make an excellent running or hiking partner with her long legs and lean build. Seren has energy to burn, and does best with two good walks per day or better yet, an opportunity to run off leash or chase a ball. She enjoys having a backyard to run around, and she will spend time outside on her own running around the yard. She has been to multiple group training classes and has done very well (she would probably love to do agility or any other dog sport that combines speed and confidence building). Seren also travels very well in the car. She is house trained and crate trained, however does well left loose in the house without accidents or getting into things. She does sleep well in her crate over night, but one of her favourite spots is curled up between your legs or beside you in bed.

Overall Seren likes the company of other dogs that she is comfortable with. Seren does have a bit of an intense/rough play style especially with small dogs, and therefore would be better suited to a playmate closer to her size.Seren has shown some dog-selectivity, therefore proper and controlled introductions to new dogs is a must. Any poor reactions towards other dogs seems to be associated with resource guarding, which can include food, her people that she knows (only when in the home), or even spaces in the house. These behaviours can be a bit unpredictable, and therefore Seren would really do best as the only dog in the home. The best companion may be a large breed, confident male dog, however I think she would thrive as the only dog at home, with the ability to still have some doggy playmates outside of the home.

Due to her excitable nature, which includes a little bit of nipping and jumping when she gets very excited, I would recommend a home with older children only. I would also recommend an owner who has dog experience in the past. Seren will make an amazing companion especially to an active household! We can’t wait to find her happily ever after!
