Jake (McFly) is such a great boy who will make someone very happy! He's such a good mix of active and chill - he would make a great hiking buddy. He loves his walks, but also enjoys chilling and watching TV after he's burned off his energy. He sleeps all night, and even likes to sleep in! He'll ask politely for his morning and evening walks (he's got a good set of puppy dog eyes), but is really calm and quiet in the house. He does well with other dogs (can be selective), but he can apparently resource guard with other dogs, so would need to be fed separately until this can be further tested. No resource guarding with humans. He's very obedient if you would prefer him off the furniture, too. He just wants to please his humans!

The main thing he needs some help with is new people entering the house. Abuse in his past means he will need some help with this, and some measures in place in the meantime (greeting new people outside, or go to place, or crated when new people enter, etc.). Once he has a chance to settle, he's totally fine with the new people in the house and wants to be friends!

He has no separation anxiety and does perfectly well loose in the house for a full day of work (although he is crate trained). He's doing well on his training and can go to his place, sit, down, and leave it. He's very treat motivated, which is great! He walks well on a loose leash most of the time, sometimes pulling a bit if he sees a dog he wants to greet or has higher energy. He would be very receptive to "heel" training I'm sure (because, TREATS!).

Jake is such a good boy and needs a champion and best friend!
