Meet Mojito, aka the fun police! Mojito might be small in size, but definitely not in attitude! She doesn’t like anyone having fun, or getting to excited about anything.
She feels that she should eat the same food you are eating, not dog food out of a bowl, as that’s far beneath her princess status. Because of this, getting her to eat her dog food can be quite challenging, but we’re working on it. Eventually she’ll give in when she realizes you won’t give her people food.
Mojito does like going to walks when it’s nice outside, but is very much a fair-weather dog, so refuses to walk if it’s cold or rainy out. Mojito will do her business outside when out for walks, but does not ask to go out, so is not housetrained. She does give signs that she needs to go out, that someone would need to watch for, but she has no issues doing her business wherever she is when she needs to go.
This princess absolutely loves to cuddle and wants to be held all the time. She’ll happy fall asleep in your lap any chance she gets. She does expect that if you are sitting, she’s being held, and if not, she will cry until you pick her up.
Mojito does live in a home with a foster sister, who she spends more time being mad at than anything, so would probably be happiest as an only dog. She does not like it when another dog wants attention from her person and will growl to let them now of her displeasure.
As Mojito doesn’t like anything that moves fast or excitement, and can be very bitty (and she bites hard, but it’s in play not to hurt you) when she does decide to play, so she would not be suited to a home with kids. Mojito has very rarely played with a tennis ball, but mostly will only play if it’s directly playing with her person.
Mojito bonds very strongly with one person, to the point where she will only use the bathroom in front of her person, even though she does get along with others. Mojito also thrives on routine. She does best when her daily routines and yours remain consistent. She can become quite vocal to let you know of her displeasure when her routines are disrupted.
Mojito has a few strange quirks, one of which is at night. At bed time she climbs under the blankets, and needs to lick your feet / legs before she will settle in for the night. We believe this is a way of self soothing for Mojito as it’s something that happens every night without fail.
When Mojito came into foster care if was evident immediately that the had a UTI which we promptly treated, but some of her behaviors from that have remained. These behaviors will be discussed with a potential adopter, and some things that have worked to help alleviate some of them.
Mojito would do best in a home where she has one person who is her care giver and companion with a fairly consistent schedule which Mojito thrives in.
