Male, 4 years, pit bull X, 55 lbs

This itty bitty pitty is looking for an active family for his forever home! Groot arrived with an excited and curious outlook on his new life in Canada. He is great with cats and will try to play with mine, but will back off and leave him alone when the cat has had enough. Groot is curious about dogs, playing with both big and little dogs with no aggression or resource guarding. He can be excited to meet people, and is what I call a 'face-talker' - he is working on not jumping up when he's excited. He loves kids, but will need a proper introduction and reminders to not accidentally knock them over or lick their faces. He doesn't bark at anything inside or outside, but will bark/cry for less than 5 minutes after being kenneled. He calms down quite quickly and has learned that he doesn't come out of the kennel unless he is quiet. He is house-trained and gets lots of encouragement for going potty outside. He is excited in the car and is working on being calm while driving. He is FANTASTIC on the leash, no pulling or anything. He will want to meet every single person he sees, but a quick 'leave it' will redirect him. Groot is very food motivated and will do just about anything for kibble. He's extremely snuggly and wants to be within petting distance of his people. Likes: food, snuggles, and walks. Dislikes: snow, going downstairs, and being left alone - he is working on his inside manners and will do really well with obedience lessons. So far he knows: sit, off, leave it, and come - after only one week! This sweet boy would do well in an outdoorsy and loving family.
