My name is Moose, and I like to party!
Moose is a big happy go lucky, derpy goofball, full of love, affection and exuberance for life. He has the classic German Shepherd characteristics: super loyal, loving, smart, very agile and strong. Despite being a rescue, he really hasn’t shown any behavioural issues and his training has come a long way with his fosters in just a short period of time. With enough exercise, attention and training, his adopters will realize they’ve really hit the jackpot with this beautiful boy.
Moose’s new home must be very active and have the time and energy to ensure ongoing training with him. He needs to be both mentally and physically exercised and stimulated. He absolutely loves kids and thinks he is one of them. He has a super gentle mouth. He also loves other dogs and spends most of his free time pestering and trying to play/wrestle with his furry foster sister. He would love either a human or furry sibling in his forever home. He would be a great family dog. He should also go to a home with a yard and would not do well in an apartment setting as this boy loves to run, sniff and play.
Activity Level: Very active. He currently gets a 30min run in the morning and goes for over an hour long walk in the afternoon/evening. He would do well on long hikes, bikes or runs.
Likes: All people, dogs and really everything. He’s a happy go lucky guy, full of love. Chasing his ball, his green stuffy crocodile, belly rubs, chasing water coming from a hose, going on adventures.
Dislikes: Cats… or perhaps he likes them too much.
Crate trained: Yes. He’s a pro and is quiet as a mouse. He is kennelled without issue at night and when his fosters leave the house. No separation anxiety.
Leash trained: working at it. He has come along way with a Halti harness and training with his fosters.
Kids: Absolutely loves and thinks he is one of them. He is super gentle and careful with kids and has a very gentle mouth. He loves waking up his human foster brother in the morning with gentle little boops of his nose.
Other dogs: LOVES!!! He would love a furry buddy to wrestle and play with. He can have a bit too much teenage energy for some male dogs. He gets along well with all sizes of dogs including the small ones
Cats: Loves to chase and is a bit obsessed with them. Shouldn’t go to a home with cats.
Car Travel: does very well in the car. He is super pumped at first to be going somewhere but settles down for a nap once you hit the highway.
