Meet Barriston, our gentle giant and the most lovable dog you’ll ever meet! He has an incredible knack for making friends—once he meets someone, they’re buddies for life! His absolute favorite things are getting pets and having his belly rubbed. Sometimes, he forgets his size and jumps up for attention, which can be a little challenging, especially with kids, but he adores them too!

Though he’s a big boy who needs plenty of space, Barriston is low to medium energy. He loves nothing more than to lounge beside you or snuggle up for hugs. He’s not overly playful and prefers scratches over toys, but he’s slowly coming out of his shell! He’s great with cats and shows curiosity without being aggressive. He’s also good with dogs—he doesn’t mind passing them on walks and greets them politely, though he can get overwhelmed if they’re too loud or in his face, which might lead to some growling and barking. Otherwise, he’s a quiet boy! With proper introductions, he’d do just fine living with other dogs—he’s currently living happily with our dog!

Barriston doesn’t have any resource guarding issues, is housebroken (no accidents here!), and is crate trained. He still needs a little bribing to go into his crate, but once he’s in, he settles right down without whining or barking. He has no separation anxiety and wasn’t anxious even on his first day with us! He’s a dream in the car! Just a heads up—he can be a bit of a puller on the leash. Watch out for squirrels and rabbits; he’s obsessed with chasing them!

His ideal family would have a house rather than an apartment and companions who are calm, like him—not too yappy or overly energetic. Overall, Barriston is a sweet, easygoing companion ready to share his love with everyone! 😊
