Katniss is a real gem of a dog. Kind and trusting, she loves people and follows them everywhere. She LIVES for pets and will return your kindness with cute little kisses. This short and stout black beauty is a very happy-go-lucky girl who enjoys the company of other dogs. She likes to play but isn't aggressive about it at all and takes social cues well. Kitty Kat as we affectionately call her likes going on walks with her foster sisters and drinking all the water afterwards. She is left alone in the house for multiple hours a day free roaming and is an excellent guest. Katniss likes to play with toys and will even throw them up in the air for herself to catch. She's met a few children and was very well-behaved - I think she'd be a great dog for a family. She wins over all our house guests with her sweet disposition. This middle-aged love-bug came to BARCS from a high-kill shelter in California where she was surrendered by her owner for an unknown reason. After all the driving to get to her foster home, she's understandably not the biggest fan of car rides right now - they're scary! Katniss is also a little chonky - she's currently working to shed some pounds so she's ready to show off her best bod for Santa and land herself in a loving forever home ahead of the holidays.
