Rimmie is the sweetest funniest little dog who captures everyone’s attention with her little smile. When given the opportunity she will cuddle up into or underneath the biggest blanket possible.

In the home Rimmie is potty trained, amazing in her kennel, not destructive, confident, and very funny. Although she is the smallest dog in the house, she is often zooming around trying to get the big dogs to play with her and wants to be in all of the action, whatever that might be. Rimmie is a pretty quiet gal, in the past 12 days I have only heard her bark once when my dog barked out the window.

Rimmie has been coming more and more out of her shell as the days go on and has recently discovered that toys may be pretty cool after all. She has yet to pick a favourite although has taken liking to a plastic spiked ball. She has not shown any sign of resource guarding for treats, food, water, or toys with dogs or people.

Immediately after coming to Alberta it was clear that walks were the key to this little girls heart. Despite being the smallest of my bunch she is the leader on all walks. Rimmie pulls sometimes on leash but with a small reminder like a slight leash pressure, she will quickly stop. During walks she is very interested in the surrounding wildlife like bunnies or squirrels. We are working on redirecting her attention back to the person walking her, through a light leash correction and saying her name, rather than the animal.

When meeting new people Rimmie is quite reserved and nervous and will turn back to her support human. It took her a few days to warm up to us and we simply gave her time, cuddles, and treats, but to this day she is still slowly showing more and more personality and comfort. Although she is very timid with new people she has never shown any sign fear based aggression. With time, Rimmie has an amazing personality and will glue herself to the hip of her person/people.

Overall, Rimmie would thrive in a home with another dog, or at least ample time to interact and play with other dogs, and ample walking and activity time to explore and march her tiny little legs around. Rimmie will quickly steal your heart with her beaming smile when she gets excited (food, walks, a simple smile in her direction). No matter how your day went she’s there to make you laugh.
