Estella is just the sweetest little dog, who will instantly melt your heart with her Dobby-like ears. She adores cuddles and her people, which she affectionately shows by lifting your hand to be pet, sits on your lap and vocalizes these soft little grunts.
Estella is not just a pretty face though, she is also quite impressive: After 10 days we still haven't heard her bark! Fully potty trained, crate trained, not destructive, doesn’t beg for food, at home doesn’t get startled by loud noises, is comfortable on her own, especially when she is well exercised and given a kong. These are just a few of the many things that make Estella so special.
Although Estella happily plays with toys on her own and brings them to her bed, as well as enjoys the occasional chew or kong, her favourite things are lounging in her cozy bed, preferably hidden under some blankets and walks. Despite her small stature, she is fast! So she will pull a bit on the leash if you can't keep up with her, but she is easily reminded to slow it down, as she frequently looks at you during walks for guidance/reassurance. During walks she has shown concern for new sounds, people or things, but with desensitization, and positive reinforcement, she is gaining more confidence over time.
Initially Estella can be a bit timid or nervous in new environments, situations, people, dogs and especially inside cars. However, a trusting relationship with her people, along with counter conditioning and encouragement, Estella musters the courage to tackle all situations that make her nervous, and has demonstrated that she can overcome her fears!
Interestingly, Estella shows a potential for dog sports, as she has exemplified a curiosity and aptitude for physical challenges (like jumping on boulders, jumping over obstacles, and going through tunnels) and sports might further build her confidence in new things. Once she gets to know other dogs, she will play for a bit, but then likes to retreat to her bed for some alone time. For this reason she would do best with older pets, or ones with a calm energy and pets that would respect her need for space and solitude. She doesn’t resource guard for food, but does for toys with other dogs - humans its fine.
Overall, Estella is a wonderful dog, who would bring lots of joy, comfort and love to a future home, and her future family/person will be oh so lucky to have her in their lives.
