Dottie is a brave little lady. She was a bit nervous around hardwood floors and stairs at first, but with a little encouragement and us going first, she quickly figured it out.

She’s learning to feel comfortable in her crate, especially with the help of tasty meals and treats, and has made impressive progress. Since she’s still figuring out her crate, she’s been sleeping in her own bed near ours. She has gotten up once each night to try and climb into our bed but quickly settles back in her own bed with some encouragement. She wants to stay close to her people, but she’s equally happy to simply rest nearby, content to just be in your company.

On walks, Dottie’s a dream. She doesn’t pull on the leash, though she’s a little wary of loud cars. She does show interest in squirrels and rabbits but hasn’t dragged us to chase them. Dottie has been great when we’re cooking or eating, at first following us around but then finding her spot to lie down.
