Wendell Fang

Adopted

Description

Male, 6 years, chihuahua X, 5 lbs

From the moment Wendell was handed to me his want for love and security was clear. After I got him home, fed and comforted he had the cutest smile on his face.

Wendell is an absolute sweet, loving boy. As a 6-year-old, 5 pound chihuahua he does have that cowarding stance when you approach, but he allows you to pick him up, and can’t wait to cuddle with you.

Due to the cold weather he is not a happy camper outside, so potty training and walking has been a challenge. But he will surprise you, when comfortable he is almost running instead of walking. This just means it will take him a bit longer than others to be fully house trained. Keeping him in a daily routine will contribute to his training.

At this point it is too soon to tell if he will like toys, he is more all about the cuddling and sleeping. He does whine when you leave him, and will become attached to his owner very quick. He will need a home where he is spoiled and receives a ton of attention, maybe even somebody who could bring him to work or with them when they go out.

He rarely barks, and when he has seen other people, dogs or rabbits on walks, there is no fear, lots of interest. Even though we have not had him around other dogs or cats, he doesn’t seem like the type that would start a fight.

Wendell is not able to go up or down stairs as of now, but that could change after he goes to the vet and gets his left leg checked.

He does prefer wet food over dry, but has no problem gobbling down a dry treat.

He doesn’t spend any time in his crate but does go in when need be. He is already gaining some weight and will bring much joy to all. I see nothing but a long happy future for Wendell.

Must be happy with giving belly rubs cause that’s his love language. He is sweetness in a small package.

Wendell is being fostered in Calgary.
