Hi there! My name is Tiffany and both my foster moms both say I am super special and that they fell in love with me as soon as I started to open up. You see, I am really really shy at first. I might not even come close to you and my tail might be in between my legs ... I did that with my current foster mom when she picked me up. I knew tough, if she was loving, patient and gentle, I would open up.
I have been through a lot: I am one year , one month and already had a litter of puppies. They found me roaming the streets around a building complex. I was just trying to keep safe and fed. I am such a gentle soul, my default was running and hiding every time I was scared. A lot scares me and I am just learning to trust and relax.
My foster mom in Bakersfield took me and my puppies in and I really enjoyed it there! She had a dog and I bonded with my friend first and humans second. I do love humans so once I am bonded, I want to play , love pets and I follow everywhere :). Yay for safe humans. I used to have a yard there so it was really nice! Helps me with outdoor time and my fears.
Here in Canmore, my foster mom has a condo and at the beginning the street was too much! I used a pee pad on the deck, but now I go out every day. My mom says I am SOOO BRAVE.I am so curious and really want to do things, that I just gather courage and surprise her every day. She kisses me and squeezes me every time I go a little bit longer or a bit further. I was so scared when I first arrived, I did not leave my crate for 3 hours ( I hate crates now). Now, I am ok to explore the condo, but prefer spending time in my mom's bedroom as that is my safe space. She has a fuzzy blanket between her bed and the dresser and I nap there. I love to nap , I am still tired from all the changes. My mom keeps telling me I am super smart, sweet, calm and gentle. I am not sure why she makes such a big deal of my pooping and peeing outside (never at home ... yuk!) but she does.
I hope to find a forever home that understands I will need lots of patience, sleep, play, love and affection. Sometimes even the sound of a door opening might spook me but I look to my human to make sure I am safe. I can't wait to meet with my new family and if there is another gentle dog around, even better!
Tiffany is an absolute beautiful soul. She has gone from napping in a corner to playing with me every night before bed. She loves to dig out treats from cardboard boxes, find toys inside socks, play hide and seek with a pillow. She is walking outdoor and is easy to walk except when she gets spooked. She will bolt if she gets super scared so a good drip on the leash is recommended. She does not have one aggressive bone in her body ... even when terrified she has never shown teeth or bitten. She is fully potty trained and will whine if its urgent, otherwise she has gotten used to our routine of three outings a day (more would be too taxing for her right now). We have been going for car rides every day now to get her used to them , and she does well. She does not jump in (she is just discovering her body) but she does wait for a lift lol. She jumps out no problem.
I can not say enough good things about her. She is super shy and investing the time, patience and love on her will pay off big time.
