Meet Riggs – Your Squeaky Toy-Loving Sidekick!
Riggs is a lovable, laid-back pup with a big heart and a soft spot for squeaky toys! Friendly with everyone he meets, Riggs hasn’t met a cat yet, but with his gentle nature, we wouldn’t be surprised if he made a feline friend or two.
This good boy already knows “No,” “Sit,” and “Come,” and he’s currently working on mastering “Shake-a-Paw,” “Down,” and “Leave it.” He’s food-motivated, polite at mealtimes, and patiently waits for his bowl like a true gentleman.
Riggs has been a superstar with kids — he’s calm, playful, and walks beautifully on leash, even with his foster’s young granddaughters (ages 10–12). He’s a fan of fetch but also enjoys keeping the squeaky toy all to himself from time to time — can you blame him?
He’s mostly quiet, though he’ll let out a few barks if someone’s at the door or there’s a strange noise outside. One of his quirks? He likes to sit in front of the mirror and bark or growl softly at himself — clearly brushing up on his guard dog skills!
Riggs is crate-trained and settles quickly, only occasionally giving a short whimper before curling up for a nap. He’s had limited car rides, but handled travel in his crate like a champ.
This curious explorer loves picking up every leaf, rock, and twig he finds — especially the twigs (yum!). Whether he’s playing with you or happily entertaining himself, Riggs is content and easygoing. He’d do well in a home with or without other dogs, as long as he’s got people, toys, and love.
Oh — and don’t worry, Riggs will have your back! One night, he woke up his foster at 3:30 a.m. for a bathroom break and then went right back to bed without a peep. Now that’s what we call a respectful roommate.
