Meet Rey – The Gentle Soul with a Heart Full of Love 💛
May we introduce you to Rey—a sweet, sensitive pup who loves love and is always eager to please his person.
Rey tends to form a strong bond with one special human, though he’s gentle and well-mannered with everyone. He isn’t comfortable around young children (under about age 5), as sudden movements and loud noises can trigger his flight response. Barking dogs can also startle him, but calm reassurance has been helping him build confidence during walks.
Naturally timid, Rey prefers quieter environments and looks to his resident dog companions for guidance and comfort. He recently attended “Pets in the Park” to test his response to crowds and animals, and high-energy areas were a bit overwhelming for him. It’s important that Rey feels a connection with any resident dogs during the first meeting—if he doesn’t, he may be too scared to continue engaging.
Mornings are Rey’s prime time! A fun session at the dog park followed by a relaxing evening walk seems to be the perfect exercise balance for him. He’s very social with dogs in familiar settings and loves to play once he feels safe.
Rey is fully house-trained, has never had an accident indoors, and doesn’t chew or destroy things when left alone outside of a kennel. He’s great with cats, walks well on a leash, and only barks when other dogs get him going. He shows no signs of food aggression, adores car rides, and has even learned to swim (he loves the water!).
He’s slowly discovering how to “play” and already knows and responds to his name. Rey has also been a dream for grooming—whether it’s a bath, trim, or nail clipping. He stays calm and trusting, often just laying in your arms like a baby.
One of Rey’s most charming quirks? He smiles—literally shows his front teeth when he’s happy. While he’s not a big barker, he does let out a little squeak when he’s nervous, excited, or left alone.
Rey is truly an amazing, easygoing dog who just wants to stay close to someone kind and gentle. He’s ready to thrive in a patient home that understands his quiet nature and can offer the love and security he’s been waiting for.
