I have wanted a French Bulldog for over half my life, and let me tell you, John Cena lives up to the hype! Unfortunately it is not the right time to add a permanent member to our household, so let my loss be your gain!
Johnny is such a great little guy! He is currently the only dog in our home, but he routinely hangs out with my parents three large dogs and after a slow introduction is really good with them! He would do great in a home as an only dog, or with a dog on the more submissive side as he can get a little overwhelmed if they are too in his face. He does share the house with our resident cat, and while not aggressive, he is a little too interested in her for our liking, and she is solidly not a fan of him, so we try to keep them apart, and as long as she is not in his direct line of vision, he doesn’t try to seek her out. I would say he is more likely to succeed in a home without cats.
We don’t know anything about Johnny’s past, and unfortunately I suspect there was potentially some abuse because, although it is rare, he can be sensitive and nippy when touched on his paws and hind legs on occasion, and for this reason I think he would do best in a home without younger kids. It can take him a little while to warm up to new people, men especially, but once he does he is a super sweet and loyal puppy!
Johnny sleeps all night long in his crate without a peep, he’s only woken me up once since I’ve had him, and after taking him outside he promptly went right back to sleep. Most mornings I am the one who wakes him up. I work from home, so he hasn’t been tested alone outside of his crate, but he also hasn’t demonstrated any destructive qualities while I’ve been home so I am not too concerned! He’s only had two accidents since moving in, and as long as he outside every few hours is totally house trained! He is also great in the car (as long as you don’t mind a little shedding) and is happy to curl up and snooze in the passenger seat.
He loves going and walks and taking long naps in almost equal measure. He loves dancing with excitement when his people get home, sitting on the couch and watching reality tv (Wednesday and Saturdays are his least favourite days-no Love Island)and he LOVES cheese. He is definitely going to make the right family very happy!!
