If you’re looking for a Victoria’s Secret model in dog form, look no further than Trish Stratus! She’s got legs for days and carries those angel wings as if she was born with them!
Trish is an incredibly friendly dog but can be a little nervous which comes out as overexcitement at first. Given time to decompress and learn a good routine and I have no doubt she will absolutely thrive and be the bestest friend anyone could ever ask for. Potty training is going very well, she has had a few accidents in the house when left to free roam and a couple that have seemed more like marking (on a dog bed and on the couch blankets) so crate training has been a life safer. Luckily she does really well in the crate – she settles in so well at night in the crate with only a few whines and sleeps through the night (has gone 9+ hours without issue) and has never had an accident in her crate. During the day when she goes in her crate while I am off to work she will whine and scratch at the crate a little but settles very quickly and she’s very quickly learning to stay put even with the crate doors open until I say “okay!”.
Are you looking for a dog to take on adventures and possibly even do agility with? Trish would absolutely excel! She is not reactive to dogs when we are out on walks, she seems interested but continues on our walk very quickly, and she has played a bit with our resident pittie mix but has been very respectful and leaves the chihuahuas alone. For such a small stature, Trish can really jump high! She can leap from a total standstill onto a kitchen counter – luckily is easily redirected with a firm “uh-uh”. She jumps at every opportunity – jumps on people, on walks when she sees a bunny, over gates – so we are working on training with her so she learns not to jump on people for attention. Trish is already improving a ton and learning so quickly so with some additional training, time and patience, I have no doubt she will be perfect!
Trish LOVES people. She wants to be near you and getting pats constantly. She has not been tested around children yet but she seems very interested in kids on our walks. Given she is still a bit of a jumper she may do best with a home with slightly older kids who can help with her training and not be scared when she jumps up for attention.
Chewing is the name of the game with Trish. She has chewed up some blankets and her food bowl once she’s done eating so she will continue to need training to redirect her to chew on dog appropriate items such as chews and toys. She’s improving every day and I think it’s just her way of dealing with some of the stress she’s feeling. She also seems to have a fairly strong prey drive with bunnies and birds (which is no surprise give we assume she has some whippet and kelpie in her – both known for their prey drive), so a home with no small animals and a secure yard with tall fences would be ideal.
This pretty girl is going to blossom into a great pup who is ready to be your partner in crime and learn all the tricks to impress everyone in your life!
