Sequoia is in competition to be the world's biggest lap dog 🐶💤 She’s the sweetest, gentlest giant—interested in snuggles, pets, and naps in the sunshine (and shade). Not much phases her, and she’s tried to convince every dog we’ve come across to play with her. Her size can be intimidating, but I think she’d be very playful if she found a doggy friend who was willing to run around with her. She seems quite submissive and has even put effort into convincing our cat to give her a chance—getting as small as possible and slowly inching toward him 🐾🐱

When it comes to manners, Sequoia is a perfect little lady. She doesn’t bark, she isn’t destructive, and she’s good when left home alone. She’s never had an accident in the house and gives gentle huffs to be let outside when needed. She sleeps through the night on the floor beside the bed. During the day, she’ll happily follow you around to keep an eye on things, then head off to nap near an air conditioner or fan when it’s time to cool off ❄️😴

Aside from her occasional attempts to befriend the cat, she’s very respectful of his boundaries. She’s also aware of her size and is incredibly gentle with kids. Despite my 1-year-old’s unsteadiness on her feet and constant desire to be near the puppy, she’s never been knocked down or run over by Sequoia. She’s quite low-shedding and content to be brushed, which helps minimize fur around the home 🧼🖤

An ideal home for Sequoia: anywhere with room to lope around and lots of good nap spots. A big (or sturdy) dog to live with—or at least some playdates—would be appreciated. Someone who can handle her size on leash is important. She doesn’t pull during walks, but she will bulldoze her way toward another dog if she thinks she needs to say hi. We're working on it, but she’s strong enough to drag you around if you’re not paying attention! Her energy level is quite low—she tires quickly on walks, so she politely declines hiking or long adventures 🚫🥾

Loves: kids, cats, dogs, pets, naps, chewies, short walks, drinking massive amounts of water, and treats 🥰🐕🍖
Not a huge fan of: her crate and being rushed while sniffing during walks (it’s a pretty short list—she’s really so easygoing!) 🙈

She will be the perfect, most loving addition to any family and will be greatly missed here. She’s a wonderful dog! 💖🐾
