If you’re looking for a smart, derpy, and cuddly pup who loves learning, enjoys playtime and downtime, and thrives with routine and engagement, Taurus could be a wonderful match. He’d be especially happy with a family who enjoys training and being active, and a home with older children, another dog, and a backyard.
Taurus (aka Thambi, spelled Thum-bee) is a seven-month-old sweet, curious, and very intelligent pup who has been deeply loved. We believe he is a shepherd husky mix - his mom was a husky, though we do not know his full mix.
👫 He is especially fond of giving kisses and is very people-oriented. He loves being close to his people and thrives on routine and predictability. He would love to shadow you and enjoys spending time with his little clan.
🏡 Thambi is crate-trained and comfortable spending time in his pen when left alone. He is house-trained and reliably lets you know when he needs to go out. He understands a potty cue, follows a consistent potty routine, and sleeps through the night.
📚 He loves training! He is very food-motivated (trained with kibble, but cheese and ice are top-tier treats) and gets genuinely excited when he figures something out. He knows sit, down, stay, come, place, touch, paw, leave it, drop it, safety, and box-box to go into his crate!
🦮 Thambi enjoys going on walks and taking his time to sniff and explore. He’s still working on leash skills and would benefit from continued practice, but is eager to learn and shows great potential.
⚡He has a good balance of energy and calm, and can be described as a medium-energy dog. Outdoors is for play and engagement, while indoors, he understands it's time to relax, and he is happy to lounge.
🧠 He’s a big fan of flirt pole games, tug, gentle-wrestling, puzzle toys, and the occasional zoomies
🚗 He’s been getting more comfortable with car rides and has completed several 40-minute drives without accidents
🩺 He is up to date on all vaccinations and has a sensitive stomach, but with a consistent salmon-rice diet and FortiFlora supplements, his digestion is steadily improving. He currently weighs about 22 pounds, and we expect him to grow into a medium to large dog. He has also received the Bordetella vaccine, which many boarding and daycare facilities require. He does very well at the vet and is comfortable being handled, and the staff always enjoys seeing him.
🐕 He loves being around dogs and people and plays well. He can get jumpy when excited and would do better with older children. He finds cats more curious than concerning, and finds birds and squirrels exciting.
💛 Thambi is learning how to self-regulate when left alone for small periods of time. He has low separation anxiety and is being consistently worked on. He is generally quiet and vocalizes only when he is excited or communicating a need, rather than barking frequently.
