Meet Scruggs (a.k.a. Ducky)
Scruggs is a wonderful, smart, social, playful, and loving dog. Her size is certainly eclipsed by the size of her heart. She is incredibly adaptable — one moment she’s playing at 110%, and the next she’s curled up for a nap or snuggles.
She has yet to meet a person she doesn’t want to greet immediately for pets and attention. Scruggs has been crate-trained during her foster stay. With the exception of a few whines, she is content sleeping overnight in her crate in the bedroom. During the day, she’ll go into her crate without fuss, though she isn’t shy about vocalizing her displeasure at being separated from you.
Her recall has improved significantly since her first day in foster, though there’s still room to grow. She loves to play, cuddle, or simply be near her foster sister (a 55-lb resident dog). Scruggs holds her own in their wrestling matches and would thrive in a home with a furry sibling.
She is gentle when taking food by hand and is very receptive to treats as a training tool. With the right consistency, we know Scruggs will grow into one of the most loving and well-behaved dogs out there.
Fun fact: during her time in foster, she has gone by the nickname Ducky, which her foster family thought was a better fit than Scruggs!
