💕 Meet Martina 💕

Martina is the funniest little dog! She wastes no time leaping into your lap and demanding attention with authority. She loves belly rubs, pets, and squeaky toys. She initiates playtime with our other foster dog and settles easily when she’s had enough. She’s also great with kids—she’ll happily curl up with both my one-year-old and seven-year-old if she thinks there’s an opportunity for extra pets. After her very first night (which we chalked up to stress in a new place), she hasn’t had a single accident in the house.

🐾 Things She Loves

Her crate: Sleeps through the night and spends time there during the day as needed.

Food: Extremely food motivated—she’ll happily learn new skills in exchange for snacks.

People: Loves following us around, snoozing on couches, and occasionally hunting down a toy to chew.

Walks: Decent on the leash; gets excited when seeing other dogs or people. She may bark once or twice but is easily redirected.

The car: Martina isn’t one to miss out on an adventure—she’ll curl up and enjoy the ride.

🙈 Things She’s Not a Fan Of

Going outside alone: Martina prefers company. She’ll go to the backyard to do her business but isn’t vocal about reminders, so you’ll need to schedule her potty breaks.

Noises: True to her small-dog nature, she can be vocal when hearing dogs bark or lots of noise outside. We’re working on redirecting her to her kennel with a toy, and she settles quickly with guidance.

✨ The Perfect Companion

Martina is a very easy, sweet, and calm little lady. She would do well in just about any household, as long as there’s a cozy bed to sleep on and a human to snuggle with. She’d likely be fine with other dogs, but she would also do well as the only pup. She hasn’t been tested with cats indoors but hasn’t shown interest in the ones we’ve encountered on walks.

Anyone would be lucky to welcome Martina into their family—she has so much love to give.
