Female, 4 to 5 years, pit bull X, 100 lbs
Darby has come a long way in the time I've had her. First off, she has lost about 15lbs. She was quite overweight but lots of exercise has trimmed her down noticeably. She could still stand to lose some but she looks much healthier.
She also was not a fan of other dogs initially. I've worked hard to socialize her every chance I get and now she plays well with dogs, with a proper introduction. I have not tested her with cats but she likes to chase birds and squirrels in the back yard, so cats may not be a fit.
Her other issue was with small kids. She isn't aggressive but seems unsure and nervous. That has improved but I feel she would be best suited in a home with adults or older kids.
She is not loud at all and when she is alerted to something, after a quick low bark, she calms down when told. She is completely house and crate trained and very easy to walk. She is not a puller.
Darby is an absolute teddy bear once she is comfortable. She loves to snuggle and is very eager to please. She will make her new owner very happy.
Darby is being fostered in Okotoks, AB.
