🐾 Hollywood — “Honey, I Shrunk the Shepherd!”

Meet Hollywood, the “Honey I shrunk the Shepherd” wonder dog! This fit and athletic young gal has a beautiful glossy coat, pearly white teeth, and “Pretty in Pink” clean ears.

If you’re looking for a sweet companion to snuggle up with, help you get your 10,000 steps in, play like nobody’s watching, and show you how a calm, kind, experienced, and steady presence can transform a gal into living her best life, then Holly may be your perfect match.

💛 Personality
Holly is a sensitive gal who warms up to people with a quiet approach and an available lap to snuggle in. Once she knows you are a safe space, you are golden! Like many of us on the gentler side, Holly is quiet and happy chilling in her kennel when on her own.

She’s decided there are some “no-go” zones in the house, and when she’s invited to explore them, she heads to her kennel as a clear indication of an offer declined. More offers may come… but slowly and incentivized by cheese! 🧀

🌲 Adventures & Walks
Holly loves getting out for walks, exploring and sniffing every available scent. She’s discovering Calgary and area’s great pathway system, and her most recent outing included an 8 km hike at Glenbow Ranch!

She’s learning that approaching bikes or humans are not so evil, especially when treats are dispensed as they pass by. At times she has barked, tried to create a safe distance, or given other signals that an encounter is unwanted. While still a work in progress, she’s showing lots of promise, often demonstrating more curiosity than fear and maintaining a relaxed leash as they pass.

🐕 Dog Friends
Dogs (and their humans) are a must-visit! Holly desperately wants to meet and play with every dog she sees, but she does so with the respect a new friend deserves. When she meets a dog, fear of the attached human immediately dissolves.

Holly may benefit from another dog around to help her confidence grow, or from regular play dates with favourite four-legged friends.

🎓 Training & Smarts
When Holly goes to school for well-mannered dogs, she will be an A+ student. She’s already:

• Housetrained
• Got excellent recall within the yard
• Knows “sit”
• Politely waits for the “take it” cue to enjoy her supper
• Takes treats very gently

Basic training and classes like “Fearful Fido” offered at the Humane Society will undoubtedly help her transformation along.

Holly is still a youngster, eager to grow and thrive with the right guidance. With continued training, socializing, patience, and consistency, she’ll blossom into the amazing gal she’s meant to be.
