Meet Rover (aka Griff) – The Sock-Stealing, Heart-Melting, Treat-Loving Rascal You’ve Been Waiting For!
🍼 Approx. 8–10 weeks old | 🐾 About 10 lbs | 🐶 Likely a Shepherd/"31 Flavours" Mix
Originally named Rover by the amazing team at BARCs, this little heart-stealer quickly earned the nickname Griffin (or Griff, if you're in the know) from his foster family — because let's be honest, this pup is pure main character energy.
Rover is a playful, curious, and endlessly entertaining puppy. Equal parts snuggle bug and tiny tornado, he’s currently mastering house training — he knows that going outside = treat party, but he's still connecting the dots on indoor accidents. (He's getting there!)
When he's not zooming around or charming the household, Rover is hard at work as a self-appointed Chew Inspector™, investigating everything from socks to suspicious furniture legs. Luckily, he's pretty easygoing when it comes to giving up his “treasures” — even if he makes a dramatic dash to stash them in his crate first.
Speaking of his crate: Rover sleeps through the night like a pro and is content to hang out solo for a few hours during the day. He may not love the crate at first, but he settles in quickly, especially if he knows his people are nearby.
He would thrive in a home that:
✔️ Loves snuggles and playtime
✔️ Can provide consistent training to keep his clever little brain engaged
✔️ Has the time and patience to raise a bright, energetic puppy into a well-mannered adult
More about Rover:
✔️ About 10 lbs of pure charm and mischief
✔️ Great with kids
✔️ May chase cats (he’s fast, and curious!)
✔️ Barky with other dogs for now (still awaiting full vaccinations — no playdates just yet)
✔️ Learning to keep his puppy nibbles gentle
✔️ Walking well on leash — with frequent sniff stops
✔️ Food-motivated and eager to please
He’s already working on basic commands like “sit,” and with his smarts (and love of treats), he’s going to be a quick study. He adores his human foster siblings and wants to be part of everything — whether that’s playing, training, or curling up for a nap nearby.
If you're looking for a loyal, hilarious, and heartwarming new companion — and don’t mind the occasional missing sock — Rover just might be your guy.
