Until Jojo, I only fostered small dogs because I was convinced they would be easier, but the joke is on me because Jojo is the easiest foster I have ever had.

She somehow came to me perfectly potty trained, and has had exactly zero accidents in the house. I live in a townhome, so I just take her outside every few hours, but if you have a backyard I imagine it would be even easier. While a backyard would certainly be a plus, it’s definitely not a requirement as Jojo is doing great as a townhome dog. She hardly ever barks, and while I haven’t tested her home alone out of the crate just yet, I haven’t had any noise complaints from my neighbours when she’s home alone in the crate for short periods of time. She also sleeps through the night in her crate silently, although she would must prefer to be on your bed.

Jojo loves every dog she has ever met. Even the dogs who don’t love her back! She is very playful, and definitely on the more submissive side which makes her a pretty perfect playmate for most dogs we’ve encountered! She’s currently the only dog in our home, but I think she would benefit from a dog sibling to keep her entertained, as she loves running around with my parents dogs when we go visit!

Jojo shares the home with our resident cat, Ruby. Jojo is fairly interested in her, and seems only to want to play. Unfortunately Ruby has decided sometime in the last nine months that this whole fostering thing sucks and that she wants nothing to do with the dogs we bring home, so while we haven’t been able to get a completely accurate read on how she is with cats, I would feel fine with Jojo going to a home with either a dog-savvy or dog-friendly cat.

We currently go on two forty-sixty minute walks a day, although I think she would be fine going down to one. Her leash manners are a work in progress, as she likes to pull towards other dogs, but only because she wants to go play with them. Her temporary foster mentioned her kids made her a little nervous, and she can be a little jumpy about loud noises, but never aggressive. We do not have any kids in our home, but I imagine it would just take her a little longer to get used to.

Jojo is a huge snuggle puppy. If you are on the couch, she is on the couch in your lap. She is a great dog who loves nothing more than hanging out with her people and her dog friends, and would make a great addition to anyones family.
